I just do not feel comfortable playing live unless I am moving air with an amp that is up on stage with me. The response you get from an instrument is very different when plugged directly into computer into a PA. I would be interested in plugging into a computer and routing through the effects and then back out into my amp. This is assuming I could get the latency down to around 5ms. Putting through a computer also opens up a whole new world of routing posibilities. Imagine plugging your guitar into a killer A/D converter like the RME Fireface 800. You could then run it out to eight separate amps each with there own internal series of effects. Rock hard? Yes, rock very hard.
