I'm in a pretty loud band with a drummer who refuses to wear earplugs. It makes me cringe just thinking about it--he actually was getting dizzy spells when turning his head to the left, and his doctor told him it was due to low-frequency deafness. It's not happening anymore, but he still doesn't wear earplugs because he doesn't like the way it sounds. He won't like the way anything sounds if he keeps that up!
