QUOTE The sheer beauty and expressiveness of the best female singers I think beats the men - aha! good point... and so, i gotta give creds and kudos to the expressive male singers, not really mentioned here so far: freddie mercury, david bowie, tim buckley, jeff buckley, thom yorke, morrisey, rufus wainwright, bono ; all the above really have a very similar singing style, not exactly the same of course, but really ear catching just the same. i consider them all modern day crooners.
