Keeping the drums and amps separate makes more sense......if you wanted to play live with some good headphones. Sometimes that interferes with the "vibe," but I'd usually prefer a bit of bleed to the performance suffering. And I agree about using less eq. It's odd how some people think that they have to use it on every track. If I can get away with not using any at all, I just won't touch it.
