I have a Carvin Cobalt 750 that I received for my 50th birthday.
It compares quite favorably to guitars in the $1500 range including some Martins and Taylors I A/B'd it with at a local G.C.
It was just under $600 new with hardshell case and Fishman Prefix Plus™ electronics.
Darn strings do go bad on occasion though
