Default What is a "JUMBO" guitar?????

I am rather new to the world of acoustic guitars. I have seen regular acoustics and some they call "jumbo". What does this mean and what are the differences??? Also is the "jumbo" a good guitar for stage performance and recording??

Thanks

Jumbo guitars have a larger body size in comparison to other acoustic guitars. The larger body provides higher volume as well as a greater bass response. This makes Jumbo guitars ideal for players who have a heavy strumming style and use lower alternate tunings.

Jumbo guitars are appropriate for both stage and recording studio, although i tend to see them used more on stage.
