It's not about shreading, it's about not being able to play keyboard. (psst. it's a MIDI controller)

They feel like you're playing a thin, plastic trash can.

I haven't used it, but one of my students has it and said it's a kick arse midi controller.

Default cheap

yeah, a friend bought this to learn on, because he didn want to pay me to teach him and he returned it because it was so "cheap". I guess plastic isnt the best substance to make guitars out of.

Guitars should never be made of plastic. That's wht I never bought an Ovation. I think of this as a MIDI controller for guitarists.

I played one at Sharper Image (my favorite music store). It was not a guitar-like experience. The fingerboard is covered in plastic buttons that go up and down like the keyboard I'm typing on, and the strumming area is just six hard wire tines--not at all like strings.

If you're really in the market, look for one of the old Casio electronic guitars. They actually have strings and are fun to play. Stanley Jordan endorsed them and he covered Stairway to Heaven.
