Default Warm Wood

So I was wondering. Is there a certain kind of wood that brings out a warmer, deeper tone on an acoustic guitar? Or is the tone based mostly on the shape and size of the body? Does anyone know of a particular acoustic/electric that is affordable ($500ish) with a slightly thinner body and neck, that has a warmer tone?

I would agree that cedar is a very mellow tone wood. I believe rosewood is also very warm but that can get expensive. I would probably reccomend mahogany or nato body. I can't think of any particular guitars though.

Thumbs up

Dan hit the nail on the head. Cedar very warm, ebony is very warm, mahogany is also warm. Rosewood is a combo (IMO) between mahogany and spruce, and Maple would be the most brilliant of the woods listed.
