The nut on my Washburn seems to be the right size. It has great action for the first 7 frets, then begins to get a bit higher. So easy chording, a little more work on the higher frets though. A small turn on the truss rod and I should be set.

"Gibson L-00"

That is one of the most beautiful things i've ever seen.

Another is this:

1996 Guild A-25 Satin Finish
-Auditorium Size (000/OM)
-Solid Spruce Top, Mahogany Back and Sides
-Rosewood Fingerboard with Snowflake Inlays
-Grover Tuners
-Total of 621 made at Westerly, Rhode Island factory
-OHSC of brown alligator vinyl

I've played it more days than not for the past 10 years, and it sounds better every time I take it out of the case. Very balanced, even, smooth tone, though articulate with less fundamental than a rosewood dreadnaught, for example. It's small body is comfortable and sexy. I'll get some more pictures up soon.

It has no pickup, so when I play it live...I mic it! I use a BLUE "The Ball" mic through an ART Tube MP - the Ball's aesthetics are fun to play to, even though it limits my movement a bit. I still seem to get my body into it plenty...

Default Carvin Cobalt 750

I have a Carvin Cobalt 750 that I received for my 50th birthday.
It compares quite favorably to guitars in the $1500 range including some Martins and Taylors I A/B'd it with at a local G.C.
It was just under $600 new with hardshell case and Fishman Prefix Plus™ electronics.
Darn strings do go bad on occasion though

Default My favorite Acoustics

My favorite acoustics are my 2006 Gibson Songwriter Deluxe and my 2003 Gibson Custom Shop J-45 12-fret in Claro Walnut. the 12-fret makes a great blues guitar (I wish Gibson would make more 12-frets) and the SWD can handle everything else.
