Default Why I dislike Taylor Guitars

Actually, I don't hate Taylor guitars at all, but they seem to have a bum rap in some crowds. I can't figure out why, they seem like great guitars.

Do you hate Taylor guitars? Why?

could be not a bum rap Taylor guitars get but their players... you hear Taylor guitar players say how cool their guitar is or how much better it is than other guitars, however most Taylor guitar players (bar Clapton of course) suck at whatever kind of music they're playing their great Taylor guitar in... yes I'm looking at you Dave Matthews.

Default Taylor

OHHH MAN, ain't that the truth, even a Taylor cant make DMB sound good.
As for the guitars themselves I think they are fantasic but way over priced. The 3 or 410 series is probably the best value, their craftmanship is really where the cost comes into play. Chances are if taken care of, Taylors will be passed on to the next generation.

Default ooga booga

I'm a Washburn Loyalist. Will someone prove me wrong? I've never heard a taylor guitar that I can remember, but i can confess to having heard some of these "mixed" reviews. Personally though; If a guitar can stay in tune for a whole song and doesn't break every other string you put on it.......... Can it really be that bad? Think of our ancestors with sticks and cat-gut!!! "OOOOOGGGGA BOOOOOOOOOGAA OOOOOOOOOGA BOOOOOOOOOGA SHE BROKE MY HEART OOOOOOOOOGA BOOOOOOOOOOOOGA"

Default TAYLOR!

I like taylors. The ones that have the curved back! wow! they resonate so much. you can tell a great acoustic by tapping the back with your fist (not hard, just enough to make a tone). the last taylor i tested had the resonance of a piano! it was amazing!

for some it may be a selling point, but i think that's less attractive (from a purchasing standpoint, not astethically).

Briiiiight sound. Great action. I prefer the fundamental of a D-28, or a 12-fret slot headstock dreadnaught. Though, I do play a small acoustic, but its smooth sounding and balanced - the Taylor need more bottom.
