Default The Sword

Hey, I just heard some new Heavy Metal music that like. Seems to happen once every decade or so for me. The Sword from Austin, TX. Just some good old-fashioned sabbathy riffin'. No clown makeup, no gimp masks, no detuned, cookie-monster vocals, no black robes, none of that superfluous crap that ends up being funny (the "No, I'm laughing AT you" kind of funny) rather than bad-ass. Just guys in jeans who turn their amps up too loud and riff out. Complete with full-on D&D lyrics, like it's supposed to be! Anybody heard these guys?

that is very cool. Yea, it seems like metal (ok ok, all music!) is so hyped nowadays, great point. i mean, why has the music and songwriting taken a backseat to the appearance, vibe, hype, props and such. this is why i like local cable tv access. they have local bands jamming their music, minus the hype. i respect that. local bands are keeping it real. i feel a lot of the big label hype is a convenient disguise for poor writing and lackluster music. i dont want my mtv.

Wow everyone stop what you're doing and go buy The Sword. Riff-tastic.

This band makes we want to go buy a spiral notebook and draw their logo on the back. Hey, what else are you gonna do in home room?

I am such a dork.

Yes, they are quite good. The recording is also pretty nice to the ears.
