Default eJamming or net jamming sites

check out this interesting article on Wired:

It talks about the perils and spoils of jamming through your computer with other people on the net through software. I believe that might be the wave of the future to cut down on studio costs and to get more people messing around to discover new ways of creating music. I've used NinJam very minorly and it seems to work good in theory if A. you have a fast internet connection and your jamming buddies too
B. you have a decent soundcard with low latency.

Typically the issue people run into is latencies which really throw you off. However with Gigabit internet around the bend I could really see tech like this coming out on top. Any thoughts?

I think this is a great idea; It would be fantastic to jam with friends (or soon-to-be friends) online, without ever meeting! Net-only bands might become all the rage.....or not. A fun idea in practice, but It could get fishy legally. Who owns the piece of music? Do you own only your part? Does the site? Do you co-own it because it was collaborative? Hmm.
