Default Favorite Places to Find GREAT Priced Vintage Gear!

What and where are your favorite places on this planet to find vintage gear without cutting off an arm for the bargain?

Midwest Buy & Sell in Chicago as well as Olivia's down in Urbana, IL are my two picks.

Anyone else been to Olivia's before?

Midwest Buy & Sell is indeed great--I'm always impressed at how reasonable the prices are in there.

The thing is, thanks to the Internet, it's harder these days than it ever was to find good deals on vintage gear. Things like eBay open up the pool of buyers to a national level, some of whom are completely willing to pay inflated prices to get the pieces of gear they're after. This in turn drives up the prices that the local people charge in classified ads/craigslist, because most people tend to look at selling prices on eBay as a barometer for what to ask for their gear.

yea, and that keeps gear out of the hands of everyone except for the super-rich, and unfortunately you hear less often about people finding good deals on hard to find gear.
