i have a pair of sennheiser HD265s that the left cup stopped working and was no longer under warranty. i called them up, and they just had me pay for postage there, and they sent me a new pair! how's that for customer service!

I still haven't operated on the E2s, but I did a test with a set of broken headphones from best buy. I was able to find the teeny wires inside. One thing that helped was I didn't bother trying to tin the ends. Also, I had to keep the cable from touching the connector until it was cool, or else the housing of that cable would start to melt. I ended up with a mono set of headphones though, I don't know how that happened. left and right are there... but in the middle.
