if you are an adult, and you buy that mp3 player for your self, you have worse problems than disney trying to screw you.

I think they're broken now too. Looks like I have to cut the end off and put a new plug on there. I've never had any luck at all soldering these little headphone wires. Are there any secrets to soldering tiny cables?
Tiny soldering irons.

Just strip the cable so there is a good amount of extra wire. Stick to your guns until everything is reconnected and use electrical tape to cover the bare wire. Still not easy though.

No way dude there has to be a way to solder teeny wires. Shure isn't gonna help me. I'm gonna give it a shot once they finally quit (right now it just crackles and the left cuts in and out)
Hopefully the E2s are made of decent enough wire, I think that is the key

You think I shouldn't lop off the end?

Same thing here with my set of 265s, makes me think that happened often. Too bad I trashed mine.

I still haven't operated on the E2s, but I did a test with a set of broken headphones from best buy. I was able to find the teeny wires inside. One thing that helped was I didn't bother trying to tin the ends. Also, I had to keep the cable from touching the connector until it was cool, or else the housing of that cable would start to melt. I ended up with a mono set of headphones though, I don't know how that happened. left and right are there... but in the middle.
