Instead of paying for an electric kazoo you could just buy a regular one and electrify it using the pickup I described in this thread:

I just realized I'm supposed to record a kazoo solo Friday night! Maybe, maybe I'll electrify their kazoo.

Is it crazy to just record the sound with a mic?

I wish I had a green bullet. That would probably be perfect.

I imagine almost any mic will do, radio shack to neumann, its a Kazoo. I'd be really suprised if it was used as a crucial part of a song, in the case that it was, I'd use a good dynamic or ribbon.

Well it's a kazoo solo. I didn't want to use a ribbon cause he's sure to blow right into it. Should be intresting. actually Dan is letting me borrow his bullet.

There ya go, yeah if your getting really close to the mic dont use the ribbon, but that bullet should to the trick, if that doesn't work maybe try a large dia cond. ahahhahhahhahhaha

Kazoo sounded great double tracked... and we did a punch-in. The bullet sounded like he was just yelling into a broken plastic microphone. We used a 57 instead for the increase in fidelity!
