That does look pretty sharp. I saw one the last time I was in Guitar Center but I didn't pick it up and try it. Call me a snob, but I think I'd have some reservations about letting people see me playing an instrument that said 'Squier' on the headstock.

ok, you are a snob. i have no brand loyalty, but i'd play that bass out if it felt right, or was the best i could afford. live, it almost doesn't matter what you play. most people won't be able to tell the difference anyways.

agreed. 100000%. your bass is either being DIed or miced through the cab. your bass tone from your amp is so messed with by the time it hits the PA, your crowd wont know the difference.

Yeah, you guys are right actually. I proudly play Peavey instruments and I feel they get a bad rap, so I should be more open-minded about Squiers. And that bass does look pretty sweet.

awesome. i think peavey has made some good instruments (yamaha too); but i've never cared for their guitar amps at all (though i hear the JSX is pretty cool).

yea, im a big peavey fan too. they make some quality product. i think squier is finally getting their act together. i bought squier in the past. 5 years a go, it was just junk. 2 years ago, the quality was much improved. and now, today, it's looking even better.

so, anybody out there play this bass?

Personally I like the P Bass version.
And I'd have NO problem playing squier. Most people in the audience totally get the guitar brands wrong anyhow. Guitarist is playing a Hagstrom, guy in crowd thinks its a fender. I'm playing a Washburn Lion, guy in crowd sees a Fender.

worse comes to worst you can always just switch out the pickups on your squire, and still usually be happy with the neck and weight of it. plus, if you are playing out something decent and it gets damaged or stolen, you won't feel as bad or be out as much money.

These vintage reissue ones have semore duncans in them. You may not need to swap those out.
