Default Portable Amps

Im thinking about picking up the Pignose 30 portable amp. I recently realized how useful these are. I have never heard one before. Anyone have any thoughts on sound quality? Anyone have any better recommendations? Thanks

i hear they are great on bass, but don't distort too well. if you want distortion, you should try the little smokey:

they rip for a portable guitar amp.

These are great in the studio too. It comes in handy if you need a drum machine part worked on in the kitchen, showing your keyboardist the keyboard part without headphones, etc.

also, as recommended to me by the smokey amps people themselves.... although it sounds dangerous, you can use the speaker out to push the front end of another amp. you can get CRAZY over the top tones that way.

Yes, I saw that on their site. It seems wild that you can either drive a 4x10 with it, or the input of your Marshall. That would sound so overloaded! You'd get HUGE dropouts inbetween notes. it would sound like your guitar was about to explode, which by all means is good.

yea, and they are so tiny! i couldn't believe an amp that sounded so great could be put inside of an empty pack of cigarettes!
