Default delay pedal with hold

I've been looking for a while now for a delay pedal with a hold function. I want to make some Melt Banana type noises. Only one I have tried is kinda finicky, i think it's the DD5? Does anyone have a sugestion for a pedal with a good, quick hold function?

Both the DD-3 and the DD-6 have a hold function they are a little different though. The vids I did for them both show how the hold function works with them.

One pedal that has a hold function but isn't a delay pedal is the Electro-Harmonix HOG. If I ever were to get a pitch effect pedal it would probably be the HOG. We got a video at Summer Namm 2006 where you can hear the HOG:

hmmmm thanks dan. I never thought that the dd3 and 6 holds were any different. I think maybe that 3 would work great for what i was thinking. but... I just ordered myself one of those green line 6 delays on a whim, we'll see how that works next week.

The hog is nice. I think the bass synth pedal (another one i ordered on a whim) does the same hold thing too.

all of those new-ish zoom multi-fx pedals like the G2-G9 have delay with hold on them. They rock in my opinion. I own a GFX-4 which has a delay with hold and sounds better than the Boss delay pedals. Dunno if you're that much of a fan of Zoom products though.

i have an old zoom multi effects pedal that i'm using; but only the tuning function. it is old, but has given me nothing but problems.

The old ones had terrible switches that stuck. Actually I had the old delay which did infact hold (with a seperate switch), but the input section totally died.

I like the Boss hold funstion best so far, but if you've got more suggestions please let me know. I just picked up a bass synth which holds the same way as the DD3, as long as you are stepping on it. That actually seems to make the most sense to me.

Now I need to make a true bypass loop since these Boss pedals are sucking out my tone.
