Nubus is tabula rasa
Default effect bypass loop

Has anyone assembled one of these:

It's ultra simple. Basically it's for completely removing your effects from your rig in case you wish to use noisy pedals (whammy wah, old analog delay, sho sound bosstone, etc.)
So it's just a switch, wire, and four jacks. The problem is I don't have a drill or I'd make my own. I've also found a box Radial makes, seems to be going for around $60 street.
Do I shell out the $60 or buy a drill?

you can find them cheaper than that. i've got a 5 way looper on my pedalboard right now that I bought for $125. I've seen them as low as $40. check ebay under "looper". you can find a billion of these things.

You're right I was able to find it on ebay at $40. I really meant to ask though would you think it worth it to buy one like that, or for me to source the parts and build one myself. I mean there is litereally nothing to it. just switch, jacks a box and wire. I could use the $40 on a drill.

i appreciate the picture of the drill btw. Why not just buy one? if you get one, you're also going to need to get an LED to know when the circuit's on, a power input for the led, to buy all the individual parts, switches, inputs and outputs. save your time, just buy a premade one. you can find a drill on craigslist.

doesn't the looper take a substatial amount of space on your peadalboard though? would installing one in your amp de-value it at all?

there's looper pedals that are half the size of an MXR pedal, and it's not being installed in the amp. anyway, if it were being installed in your amp, who cares if it would devalue your amp? If it acheieves the tone you're looking for, go for it.

i did not know they had models that small! it may matter to someone if you needed to put it in your amp.....but i was only asking if it would; not saying that you shouldn't if it did. either way though, thanks for clearing that up.

Right, these are just little pedals- not an effects loop built into the amplifier. The way it works is your sound goes : guitar - effect loop pedal - effects - amp, so for instance you could switch on ALL the effects at the same time. Basically you just switch the sound in and out of the effects path.

Gear Junkie- I was thinking an LED isn't too important. I guess it would be for yours since there's a thousand pedals there. But maybe it's one of those things I don't realize I need, like the dots on the side of the neck.

well i guess if all you need is one you don't need the LED. i'm sure it couldn't be too hard to do.

and yes, i do need my LEDs. A LOT.
