Live With Sequencing Sync...Opinons?

I'm looking to incorporate sequencing into a live performance and wondering if anyone has any suggestions to make that happen for the drummer? I've been told that a mini-disc player has been great for some peops' with the sequence in one channel and the click in the other. Any units imparticular to check out?

I always just sent the drummer a click his his cans and the sequence thru the stage monitors. this way he can customise his mix between the sequence and the click by sliding on or off his headphones. Get a laptop and an audio interface that has at leist 4 outs. one for the main mix (R,L), one for click and one for stage mix (mono). you'll be all good to go!!!

Oh man, there's so much I could go on about this.

Take it from someone who's been on tour and worked for bands for ages that you should stay away from the click and try to keep it live.

With that said, I'm not saying stay away from the loops and whatnot.

A band I worked for used to have little loop samples triggered off of a Drumkat and a sampler. They'd play the parts live, but would still be able to have dynamic changes and whatnot and not be bogged down by "blip..blip..blip...BEEP" every time. It ended up being a great live show, and I'd recommend it for anyone.

Another thing to check out would be to attach some drum triggers to Ableton Live. From there, you can assign one of the triggers to be a 5 hit tap tempo. It's great. You click the pad 4 times for the tempo, the 5th hit starts the beat. You can sync it up as short or as long as you want. Maybe you wanna play the verse part live with dynamic and tempo changes, but the bridge be all electronic. From there, you can make just the bridge go, stop when it's done and go back into the verse.

There's all kinds of weird little tricks to do.
