So here's what I'm using:
Boss NS-2 > Crybaby Wah > Phase 90 > Boss BF-2 Flanger > Guyatone ST2 Compressor/Sustainer > Boss DS-1 > Big Muff > Whammy > Digidelay. I still haven't decided on the best order to put these in and the Whammy is sidelined due to techical problems. What's your set-up like and what's the most whacked out sounds/effect combinations you've come up with? The simpliest thing I've figured out is plug my guitar into the output jack of a wah and plug the input jack into an amp. This causes a constant squeal that you can control with your volume and tone knobs and by moving the wah. When you go about half-way on the wah, you get this very crazy, creepy sound similar to a little kid laughing. Not very pleasant, but it's fun. |

I'm using:
guitar->boss tu-2 tuner->dunlop highgain volume-> crybaby->seymour duncan pickup booster->Digitech Whammy II->custom built electro-chem labs 5 way looper true bypass strip. loop 1: modded mxr distortion + (the fuzzy wuzzy) loop 2: USA big muff loop 3: mutron phaser II loop 4: ibanez ph9 phaser loop 5: dunlop ts-1 tremelo out of that it goes to a Boss DD-5 delay (Boss FS5U I use as a tap tempo off to the right of the looper), from there into a Digitech DigiVerb that I bought for a band I was playing for, and from there into a custom made Loooper ABY switch that goes to two amps. With the exception of the wah, whammy, delay and reverb, my whole board is true bypass. I've got a gooseneck lamp on the top of the board and the whole thing fits into a custom made ATA flightcase I had made for it. Pedals powered by a Voodoo Labs Pedal Power and a Pedal Power 2. I can get SO many tones out of this setup. |

My setup goes:
Guitar -> Boss Volume pedal -> Crybaby Wah -> Pod XT Live (being able to assign the pedal to any parameter of any effect is crucial for outer space madness!) -> 1/4 input on a Roland VGA7 amp. And Guitar w/midi pickup, which has 1/4 and 13-pin outputs: 1/4 -> Crybaby Wah -> Digitech 2101 -> Other 1/4 input on the VGA7 13-pin cable -> Roland GI20 -> My keyboardist's Motif 8 Then there's a pile of footswitches for switching banks on the 2101 & VGA7, and a pile of expression pedals as well. The rig is hell to set up but I can't even explain some of the sounds I get out of the stuff. Soon I'm getting a sequencer to automate some fx on the 2101...should be nice & bonkers! |

Wow! I go straight into the amp.
I do sometimes like to break out the old Uni-vibe, but a Big Muff in front of it and pretend I am the king of space. KWAAASHOUWWWWHAASHOUWWWWHAASHOUWWW!!!! That's the only way I could describe the sound. |

Presently... Due to Financial Constraints, the only pedals I own are a Boss TU2 and the two pedals on my bicycle.

For bass I used to use a green Big Muff and an old Mu Tron. Set right you could get so many great tones out of the bass (like the riff from Gratitude/Beasties).
For guitar I was using a Boss PS3 Digital Pitch Shifter and Delay Pedal to a Big Muff (Russian) to a Boss DD3 to a Boss GE7 7-Band Graphic Equalizer Effects Pedal to a Boss Hyper Fuzz to a Boss Chorus To a Dunlop Wah. I spent more time playing the pedals than the guitar. Everything had a purpose but I was always tweaking something. My short list was the Muff, a delay, and a wah. That wasn't enough! So I took a risk with the Line6 PODxt Live Pedalboard. I figured with everything it claimed I should be able to tweak out some favorite presets, save them in an order that makes sense, and deal with the fact that it's not going to sound exactly like all the pedals it emulates. Finally, after a month of tweaking sounds, I have my pedalboard preset and switchable to 95% of what I want. I still haven't found the perfect Big Muff tone but it's close. Besides that I have some interesting analog synth tones and a really good tuner now. So if you are willing to work with the processor AND your guitars AND your amps, you will be able to set up a clean, quiet effect chain that will do about anything you could imagine. (But I still miss all the cool looking little pedals). |

Using a Kaoss pad in the RCA effects loop(leave it to Behringer for that) on my Behringer GMX 210 (yeah laugh all you want) and sampling a quick solo on it and leaving it looped while I go grab a burrito. I can go eat my stuff come back and pick up where I left off... Sure it's fun, it's fun because I say so. *insert pirate laugh*
