Default alNiCo speakers

I was just at guitar center today comparing two fender blues junior amps, the standard kind and the lacquered tweed limited editon(which is exactly the same as the standard except for a jensen speaker). After playing alittle I was completely blown away at how much better the tweed sounds compared to the stock. It was so sensitive and smooth. The standard blues jr. sounded like old dog crap after I played the tweed. Anyways I got home and looked up the specific speaker and found that it was a Jensen P12R alNiCo speaker.

I had no idea the speaker material affected the tone so much and i was wondering if anybody else noticed this, or if I just got lucky and found a crappy stock jr. and a brilliant tweed.

In general speakers are the weakest link in the audio chain, which means that is often where the most tone can be lost. This doesn't suprise me at all since I know those Jensen's are super clean. Thanks for the review.

Thumbs up Good call...

Good call Alexi, very interesting.
Just look at how much of a divide there is in speaker quality in the home audio/theater market.
