Default my setup

so here's my setup.... i'm pretty super mega happy with my tone. but i'm open to critique/suggestions:

'71 sg special > pedal board > vox ac30cch > avatar 2x12 w/ 1 celestion vintage 30, and 1 celestion heritage g12h30 70th anniversary

pedal board:

ernie ball 6166 volume pedal (tuner out to tu-2) > fulltone fulldrive 2 > fulltone ocd > eh deluxe memory man > maxon pt9+ pro phaser > zvex seek trem > deluxe memory man

what do you guys think?

I bet that rig sounds awesome.

How's the AC30 head? I'm surprised you're using vintage 30's for such a low wattage head. You wont get the full range of that amp with those. Ever think about a greenback and an alnico blue? that'd be what i'd run with if I was using that setup.

I'm just confused about one thing. You've got the nice head, the nice cabinet. Nice vintage guitar, a bunch of true bypass pedals, george l cabling, but you're running all of your power off some crap-tacular power strip? get a better power supply, your tone will thank you.

the cab is a 60w cab, and a 30w head, it's not perfectly matched no, but my band plays pretty loud, so i can really open up the ac30 and get some serious tones out of the cab (much better than when i was running a 300w marshall 4x12 cab). i definately thought about the celestion alnico blues when i was comparing cabs before i bought this avatar, the alnico blue is just crazy expensive. eventually i might upgrade them, but honestly, the combination of the vintage 30 and the heritage g12h30 is really a sound to behold, they compliment each other so perfectly, i love that cab to death.

that's interesting that you bring up the power strip, i never really thought about that specifically... i was planning on getting a voodoo labs pedal power, but as you can see, i don't have a ton of room on the board, and the deluxe memory man's have their own specific power supplies as well. do you have a suggestion for a heavier duty power strip? obviously monster makes some amazing ones, but on the same tip as the pedal power, real estate is tight.

it looks like you've got a riser where the top memory man is. you cna fit a pedal power under that. i've got two pedal powers on my board. they help out a TON. plus, the pedal power's got a regular plug in the back that you put into your memory man.

i do have a riser, but it's not high enough to fit anything under it. and yeah, since i have 2 memory man's, i'd need 2 pedal powers. and then i'd need to run a splitter/power strip anyway to accomodate both of those plugs.

Nice stuff, great pics.

I was thinking about getting an avatar 2x12 to go with my Fender 2x12 and running stereo with two heads. That one looks really nice and I'm glad to hear that the sound is good.

i can't say enough good things about the avatar. especially for the price, the quality is damn near unbeatable, the value is astonishing. i mean, the cab is 288 dollars + 35 shipping, and the speakers alone cost almost 250 dollars. the build quality is amazing, the sound quality is amazing, the customer service is amazing. to get a brand name cab with comparable quality speakers would be nearly double the price (if not more) across the board.

do you have the older memory man pedals with the built in power supply, or the ones that have a standard 9v input? if it's the newer one, you can use it with the pedal power.

they have seperate power adapters, but they're not standard 9v like boss adapters, i believe they are 24v adapters.
