I have a small bright red combo amp from Guitar Research that I like a lot. After getting snubbed at music-go-round on a fender amp I wanted; I walked down the street to a pawn shop and found this one. It definitely exceeds the standard for practice amps sound quality!

I have a Radio Shack mic, that I like a lot. It works great for capturing mids to highs, especially placed behind a drumset (catches vibrato on cymbal ring) it's extremely accurate and sensitive for a $10 dynamic mic. I also like a HI Z AT dynamic mic from the 80s that produced one of the best kick sounds I have ever gotten, I had to eq out some 40 HZ, I think that mic I bought for $6.

my ooooooooold yamah psr 1120 something like that keyboard and my mexican no-name classical acoustic nylon guitar. the psr i run through many effects and create these montrous sounds and the guitar is a PAIN to play because nothing about it was setup correctly but it sounds gorgeous, probably some of the best guitar sounds ive heard in my life.

My Alesis Nanoverb caught some use this weekend. It sounds great. My CPU was bogging down while we were doing overdubs so i just ran an aux out through the nano. It sounds good distorting. Plate!

my variax 300. yeayea, you heard the critiques, im sure... but even though it doesnt have warm punchy regular guitar pickups, the piezo pickups work well, and the modeled guitars are not so much "spot on" duplicate tones, but rather, excellent recordable tones, comes in handy for songwriting on the fly, when you want a variety of different types of guitar tones to match the songs youre writing.

my cheesey yamaha psr keyboard . happy to say, its a pretty good basic keyboard, midi controller, and built in drum machine and sequencer. For less than a $100 ya get an aweful lot for the money.

I've been using the original pod updated to version of 2.0. Seems easier to get good sounds out of them than the XT. I consider it neo-vintage.

heh maybe it's not an item people are running to buy at the moment but I wouldn't mind getting an autoharp. nothing says manly more than clutching a harplike instrument like a baby. though Os Mutantes and Lovin Spoonful used them in great ways...
