Im buying a new guitar but im not sure what to buy. i like playing all classic rock and hits. like to shred. but really i like to play all kinds of music. i was leaning towards a gibson les paul and will spend $2000 if its worth it but preferably under $1,700. Any advice? Thanks.

Choose a colour, style and the sounds you want. Look at whats available. First you have to be happy with the way it looks, sounds and feels.
Do you want a trem, 24frets, are you ok with a heavy guitar? 2 grand is alot of money for most so have some fun and take your time. |

You should definitely check out Music man Axis guitars. They are very versitile and they have quality contol (unlike gibson where you can pay 2000 dollars for a piece of crap...this isn't always the case). If you only want a les paul play a BUNCH first and pick the best one. Anyways the axis super sport has a 5 way pickup selector and is just amazing in my opinion. But play one for yourself.
