I heard a rumour that the guy who heads up Gibson (Henry J*&^*^*itz)
was in the factory, visiting the finishing department. He was in the department too long, and the nitro lacquer fumes got to him. He passed out, and while he was "in the dark", had hallucinations of Les Paul trying to tune his geetar. But because of the Chinese tuners that Gibson had started putting on their $3K+ instruments, old Les was unable to do so. It was then when Henry had a "Eureka!!" moment, and the digital Les Paul was born...
