Default Vox AC-30

has anybody tried those new reissue Vox AC-30's?
I am really curious about these. I've heard these new ones are made in China, but they still have decent reviews.

Default not as good

Depends on who you talk to, purists I know say its nowhere near the old AC's. Ive heard the old ones and they sound how should I say..ummmm. good. The new ones however I heard were average at best, and not nearly as rich and full as the old ones. Just a note

Tubes need time to settle in. So do speakers. Give them some burn in time and they might suprise you.

I have used three different AC-30's, an original late 60's, one from I believe the 80's, the other is about a year old at best. I agree with Luke, the '67 was much much warmer and has a very full sound. (I was using both a Hagstrom Sparkletop and American Tele '52 reissue on it) When I played it clean, it had much more body to the Tele (than you'd expect on a tele) and when I paralleled the inputs the crunch was very warm and not as harsh as the other two models I have played.

The one from the 80's (which looked the coolest with a re-tolex in Vox red tolex [like the Continental Organs]) was my least favorite and had the least amount of output...but definately felt a little warmer than the most recent of the 30's which was...much brighter and just seemed to have had a higher level of gain than the other two. I used both of these amps with an original 70's Tele Deluxe...which I believe is John SanJuan's (Hushdrops,Webbs,Ness) and used to be owned by a certain someone of Material Issue. All were very applicable and if you can get your hands on a handwired model with the "Blue's" I highly recommend making the investment and just let her age with grace!
