Default Reverb pedal

I have been looking for a new reverb pedal since my amp has no reverb and I stumbled upon this guy:

I've been using a lot of spring reverb convolutions lately and figure a real spring box would be the way to go. This one looks pretty nice. Any other suggestions?

sorta along those lines as well:

The Dan-O Spring King
I've heard it. sounds very good to my ears but I prefer reverbs from digital units more... the Zoom G2s have 32-bit reverbs in their multi-fx pedals, people seem to really be digging the reverbs on that unit lately.

Thumbs up

Well, IMO, the Grail is exactly what it advertises..... The Holy Grail of Reverb effect pedals. I would never think of buying anything else, While my amp has a very good and functional reverb setting, most times the clean signal sounds better without it, so a grail is nessescary. The hall settings are varied from a small room to an apocaliyptic gothic church in Spain. The spring is almost sexual, extremely good sound and control on this setting. The Flerb is like a flange reverb combo that adds an amazing texture when layered on any type of clean track.

spring reverb is wicked... i can imagine this huge PONG when you step on the pedal real hard.
it isn't an actual spring in there is it?

yes it is an actuall spring. I would assume for the price the have the spring isolated from the switch somehow. But I would like to experiment with the sounds that occur when I kick arounfd the pedal.

i have an practice amp by Marshall that has actual spring reverb in it. kicking it around produces like a clanging swoosh brite sound, not very usable except for random weird effects but i have opened the casing of the amp a couple of times and stuck some marbles on top of the spring plate and it makes it sound like a granular reverb effect thing. the actual process on a spring reverb with an actual spring with no plate in it I would imagine not give you that swoosh I hear but i could be wrong though.

kick that spring!

i played with a band 2 weeks ago that had their vocals running through the Grail and it sounded so so SO good. very haunting like out of sweet Twin Peaks dreams sequence. also a friend of mine did a recording where he rattle his practice amp with spring reverb for a effect and it sounded damn good through distortion.
