Default guitar cabinets

anybody got any good advice on guitar cabinets? i have an 80 watt hughes kettner guitar combo amp with a cab output jack, and i am aware of matching wattage and ohms, but in terms of quality cabs, anybody got some good suggestions? i heard it is a really great way to improve the sound quality of your combo amp (even if it already sounds great!), any advice? like 2 speakers? or 4 speakers? and is the wood quality of the cab esssential? what about the speakers? is that the most important part of the cab? does the combo amp's speaker still play sound if the cab is hooked up to it?

i need some good advice

thnx

check out the epiphone Triggerman 412 cab, good price! looks nice! not sure what speakers it uses though, but you could easily upgrade to some vintage 30s or greenbacks

Default THD 212 Extension Speaker Cabinet

The THD is smaller and weighs a lot less too….If you want big sound without slipped disks, this is the answer.

I put a greenback in my Mesa Boogie Studio 22 and it lit the room on fire. Sounds soo sweet, and the wierd thing is, I was playing Jazz!!!! For thoses who dont know the greenback is the ultimate rock speaker, but the smooth warm tone complments jazz as well! who would have thought!

Look for a cab with plywood construction (as opposed to particle board). I also prefer cabs with rear-loaded speakers instead of front-loaded, though the difference is kinda subtle. Rear-loaded cabs seem less harsh to me.
