Well from what I've experienced in music, there are more sh*tty shaddy people then there are cool people. Keep an eye on your sh*t, and most times things dont go missing. But I do feel for ya, there's nothing I hate more than some slimy piece of sh*t takin something you paid your hard earned money for. But you can think of it this way, he will have something more expensive and important stolen from him one day, hopefully something he needs immediately so he gets a double whammy.

Yeah. I'm sure someone stole it, those things don't just fall out. Could have been anybody.

it was the bass player from fall out boy; he hid it in the place his soul used to be.

Also watch out for other people using your gear at shows. I was at a show and the other bass player used my set up, but at the last minute he pluged his amp head into my speaker box. The speaker was fried by the time there set was done. The worst thing of all is that he didn't even say thank you for letting him use my stuff, let alone sorry, or here is a few bucks to get it fixed. You know he had to know it was fried out. Bastard!!!!

yea, an aquaintence took a di box from a shady venue, justifying it by saying that they will never miss it....that's the last time i hung out with that person. cables, packs of strings, slides, straps, etc are all replaceable; people with no scruples justify taking things people "will not miss."

i totally agree, i been in the same situation, if someone is casually telling me how they took (stole) something from someone, and laughing about it and making a joke out of the situation, that dude is not getting anywhere near my precious gear. at least ya got a heads up in advance as to what he's all about... it might sound paranoid, but better paranoid than minus all your gear...
