I've said it before, DR's are the strings of choice. Ya just can't go wrong.

I have used Slinky medium gauge strings for some time now. They bend well, stay brite for a fair time and stay in tune on my guitars. I'm curious about the electric Elixirs. Since these seem be about 2X the price of other sets, I wonder if they live up to their rep..

If you have a hollowbody guitar I would suggest the D'addario EXL-115W Jazz Rock strings. I'm using them right now with that wound third and they sound awesome they brighten up my mellow/dark pickups and they give a very nice attack sound.

That said, I prefer the Elixirs for acoustic playing. |

A Second for the Regular slinky's, they last a long time, very durable, very cheap, and sound good. What more could you ask for?
![]() ps. rhetorical question and probably a smaller picture. |

I like the slinky's because they got a mean old eagle on their packaging. They really do last a long time though and rarely do they break, even when I'm using light gauge with which to shred. DR's on bass though, always.
