Default I killed some pedals!

Well, sort of. I have one of those Boss power supply/master switch pedals. When I used to have a lot of pedals I powered most of them with it, though lately I pretty much just use a wah, but I was still using it to power the wah with a daisy chain cord that I truncated (also as a master switch between my amp and my tuner). One day I couldn't get it to turn on because there was a short in one of the ends that I snipped, so I fixed that and that took care of the problem. A couple days later, I find out the power supply won't work at all anymore, and I can't power the wah with AC any longer. I guess it's batteries for me now. I still am kind of flabbergasted about how this happened. Why would the pedals work after I fixed the short but then die entirely like a day later?

those things are tempermental as hell. i'm using one right now for my bass pedalboard. you may have put too much voltage into your pedal and fried it. i'm guessing the daisy chain regulates how much voltage goes to each one. If it gets cut, it adds more power to each output and it overdrove your pedal.

just an idea.

FYI, if you have a boss TU2 tuner, a NS2 noise supressor or the LS2 line selector, you can do the same thing as the boss power supply. it's got a daisy chain out that you can power all your pedals with.

Does the wah work with the wall wart alone?

It doesn't, and it used to. That power path seems to be fried. It seems to work with a battery though. Although I haven't actually used it with a battery; I just got it to turn on that way. Hmm...

I'd try another wall wart too, that one might have broken.

That was my first thought, because it happened at a gig. I got home and tried another wall wart, and it didn't work. I wondered what was up until I tried the wall warts with my roommate's Boss digital delay, and they worked fine. So unfortunately, those are not to blame.
