Default fernandes guitars

has anyone tried a fernandes? i thought the sustrainer effect was neat, but how does the guitar itself measure up? are they worth the cost?

Thumbs down

I used to do some light setup work for a local pawn shop and I worked on 4 or 5 fernandes guitars and they all sucked. A few of them had warped necks and all of them sounded like shit, and looked poorly made. They struck me as being on Par with First act or Bentlys. I guess to be fair these were not new guitars and they might have been abused but, if 2 out of four had bad necks it makes you wonder why. Maybe they make better stuff nowadays I don't know but all of the ones' I've seen needed fret jobs and new pickups at the very least.
