Or you could go his route of the 4-string guitar tuned F# F# B E. As much as LB totally sucks every suckable thing, the 2 unison strings right next to each other can be pretty lethal.

If I had any pride, it would also sucks to admit I like something done by Limp Bizkit. But, I don't.

Cool

I do mess around with the Jimmy Page inspired DADGAD tuning every blue moon. I used to know the Rain Song in it's entirety, but it's now long forgotten.

Rain Song is actually not that hard to play in standard tuning.

Yeah, but it never sounds quite right in standard tuning IMO.

I don't mess around much with alt-tunings but when i do two that I enjoy are:
D A D A B E, And the tuning of a twelve string on a 6 string guitar
Try it some time...

one thing i like is when the band is in tune with each other, but a bit off from standard 440Hz = A, specially from song to song. makes it alive.

they used to pitch songs higher a few cents by speeding the tape machine to give songs more of a sense of immediacy and make the males sound younger (to appeal to a teen audiance for a greater period of time).

My two favorites are: Mauna Loa tuning...which is ...i believe in the key of C or C# ...
and open E tuning which is.. EBEG#AbE I believe...Bo Diddley used to use it quite a bit..i think mr. Keef Richards did as well as my hero Johnny Marr...you can hear it especially on "Headmasters Ritual"

i always heard that johnny marr just tuned 2 full steps up, with no capo! he may have used more than one, but "the headmaster ritual" is a great tune.....all of meat is murder (with the exception of the title track) is flawless.
