Drew, you ever play one of these? Griff? It's a Burns Ampeg Jazz guitar with sweet looking writing on it and switching.

I've never actually played one, but from what I've heard of those Burns guitars, those pickups are very low output and very middy-tinny. Burns used to make Brian May's recreation guitar that he built with his father. I know they recently went out of business (or stopped distribution in the US.... one or the other).

This is the first time I've seen Burns and Ampeg associated together, however Ampeg guitars and basses from the mid 70's are selling like hotcakes these days with people like Dave Grohl capitalizing on them. The lucite bodied Dan Armstrong guitars with the swappable pickups sell like mad.

It looks like the "not best built" guitar going though. If you're looking for a weird vintage guitar, check out Supro, Airline, National, Valco and one other I can't think of off the top of my head.

I have that same exact guitar in sunburst. I got it at a garage sale for $5. Of course it wasn't in the best condition. Some of the frets were coming out of the fingerboard and the metal was tarnished a bit. But it played.

GearJunkie is right about the pickups. They seem to be made for surf guitar or something.

Other than the frets and the tarnish there where no other serious defects. I could polish and refret for and sell that thing, buy myself an MD 421 and a swirly gig.

that looks in great condition. i'm not sure what the "moog electronics" entails, but my only problem with RGs has been the weight and balance of them. They're a bizarre guitar to hold.

i just bought a 50 watt hiwatt head and two pedals off ebay. coming next week. OH YEAH!!!!

Diego that amp looks pretty different with the replacement skin. I used to play a lab series but for some reason I didn't like it, but I was a stupid kid. Hey look, I grew into a stupid adult! I never knew Moog designed them.

Junkie hooray for the Hiwatt! Finally you'll have an amp.

Not exactly an electric guitar but Damn I've always wanted one of these. I want a white one of 'em.
