i haven't used that particular delay; but i do like the design with the knobs that pop up to secure your settings. a friend has the ibanez distortion and it sounds great, but over time the knobs don't pop up i hear.

yes, yes.....that's EXACTLY what i mean. i mostly hear complaints about the sound of line 6 products, never anything about their construction.

I was recently able to try out the T-Rex Replica. I've heard a few people raving about it and have to say I don't really get the hype. I like that it is a tap delay and you can also control a couple parameters via MIDI but altogether the parameters were weak. I couldn't get the wet signal to %100. This means that it wouldn't function properly in an effects loop. Otherwise the sound was very nice and evsn though I have never used an effects pedal live (other than my booster) I would consider using this one as a slapback effect.

Memoryman is the best, no doubt, its like a insturment. I used the Boss analog a few times not nearly as cool, or sonically rich. Pod stuff is deffintely cool, tooo many choices, which in many situations is a good thing, but man I just need a freakin delay. Yeah I'm interested to hear if that Ibanez is any good, I'm assuming its not, but a pleasent suprise is always welcomed.

I've heard good things about the Maxon pedals; has anyone used their AD999 Analog Delay?

Yeah, those are great. They've got a much warmer sound then any of the other digital stuff on the market, obviously because it's analog. It's got the Panasonic BBD Bucket Brigade chip in it that was used in the EHX Memory Man and it's built like a tank. My only problem with it is that if you're looking for a really nice analog delay, this would be what you want, but there's only ONE sound to it. Granted the DL-4 and that new Eventide TimeFactor are "emulating" analog tones, they still give you more flexability as a player. Chances are with a blind listen you wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

On a cab broadcast over a PA, I'm sure no one would be able to tell the difference from the TimeFactor and the Maxon. Thanks for the head's up. I thought the whole reason the Memory Man was no longer being produced was because that chip was no longer being made; do you know why they stopped production?
