Here's a good resource. Apparently the two resistors on the TS5 are the same as the TS7/TS9. It looks like the mod would be the same for your TS5. Check the chip though. It probably isn't a JRC4558D. In which case, you'd want to replace the stock with the JRC4558D to get that sound.

You don't have any recordings of the TS7 before modification, do you? That may be revealing.

I don't, unfortunately. I bought it specifically for the purpose of modifying it, and I modded it very quickly after buying it. Pre-modification, it seemed a bit rougher sounding, and less transparent. A bit more of a "honking" quality. It didn't sound bad at all, just different.
