Default Friend needs a practice amp - which one?

A friend of mine is looking for a practice amp. Anybody have a favorite? His musical tastes are eclectic and - in case it helps with your suggestions - he likes japanimation.

Whew. I had some suggestions, but when you said japanimation, I'm stumped..

Maybe try a modelling amp. They give you tons of flexibility. There are a bunch of models out there depending on the price range.

....in the alternate tuning post someone was talking about an amp that makes dragons come out of it; you should ask them about pratice amps, i think that's the same company!

Talking dude

dragons rule, Hello Kitty does not!

If I were into Japanimation, I would want an amp with the power to destroy evil spirits, so I could thrash out and save the world ya know....common sense.

Another suggestion would be to find an amp with additional magic powers for energy surge: destorying robots, and medic kit for healing life damage. Ohh yeah and an ancient troll protection plan wouldn't hurt.

My amp had better give me the power to reach the level of SUPER SAIYAN!

I had the Alesis WildFire 15 Guitar Amplifier with DFX. It has cheap knobs but a big variety of strange effects. Some remind me of cartoon sounds more than guitar effects.
