At this price point, it's hard to bear a Squier. Really, you need a guitar with decent workmanship that will stay in tune. For tone, it will be limited, but if ur just goofing around and synthin it out, it should work nicely. I spent about $1000 on my Strat, and there's no way it's 5x better than a Squier - theyll stay in tune and make music, which is all you can really ask for.

haha yea, i guess i was feigning "being jaded" a bit on my original post! truly, i think this really is a great value for the money. i have a Fender tc90, and i think it would actually compliment it well:

now admit it, they would look good together, right???

i need a good affordable electric with a maple fretboard. i agree, squier quality has improved a lot over the last two years. im just curious if anybody out there actually has played this guitar. i bet it sounds decent. it will be great for my roland gr30 guitar synth unit im sure... ps i am digging that color too!

mikegee, didn't you menion getting a tc90? Maybe I'm confusing it with somebody else. GWCT's own Drew Krag does some fine frettin' on episode 2 of the podcast. Check it out. The Tc-90 portion starts at minute 23.

I played one, it sang almost just like the Fender version, and is a lot more versatile than one would expect. I suggest going to your local guitar shop and playing one, its got a great tone.

Something random here.

They have AWESOME Guitars. And I wouldn't go with squire, I just don't like them much.
