Band Website Help!

Are any of you guys php gurus? I"m trying to implement a newsletter into my band's website but I don't really know any serverside scripting. I have no problems finding free scripts out there for this but I can never get them to actually work without taking the time to learn mySql or PHP.

I'd like to have an application where the visitor can add their email address directly to the database via a webform on the site whereupon they'd receive a confirmation email (typical stuff) and some sort of control panel where I can compose the email and send it out to everyone in the database without having to use Outlook or whatnot.

Anyone out there have any ideas?
