that video is bad (not in the good way). i saw it over the weekend. I do wonder what decade it was recorded in. If it's present day and era, I really hope they are enjoying what they are doing because that kind of style of playing is both passe, and seriously a bore.

I agree it is not good music. This is merely a novelty to me.

huh? Faster guitar playing is obvioulsy better, since over the course of the show the performer provides the audience with more notes upon which to rock out.
This timeless principle is expressed with a simple forumla: A = n = R where A = aesthetic value, n = number of notes, and R = RAWK. As you can see, to increase the aesthetic value of the music, you need more notes. Happily, more notes also increases the RAWK quotient. |

Jason Becker shredding a solo with his fretting hand while using his right hand to play with a yo-yo. Only for a short bit at the beginning, though. After that it's back to good ol' shred. Dude was probably 19 then, and now has Lou Gherig's disease and can't move a single muscle. What a drag. Professor Riffs Unabashed lover of shred guitar |

I like shred guitar. It's fun to watch, for about 3 minutes.
Unless it's shredding in the good way like Hangar 18 shredding. which is awesome. |

That vid of Jason Becker is great, the look on his face after messing up with his yo-yo was comical
