Ok. Lots of people have done these.
For mine I: - took out the second internal screen -ditched those hf boosters, The plastic white things around the diapragm. - I also put some hard foam in a cone shape around the base of the diapraghm -put some weather stripping foam and epoxy in the casing -covered the outside of the mic body with denim this was very successful for me. The mic no longer sounds tinny, but melow and the wierd resonant caracteristics are gone. anybody done any other's? |

That's awesome. Did you use the back pocket from your ex-girlfriend's pair of stone washed. If so I give this mod a 10 out of 10.
You can also remove the switches I believe, which is one I want to do since ours are broken anyhow. was your ringing lo frequency or hi? |

the ringing was hi, the same frequency as the transient when you bump the mic when its on.
and I actually used turqoise denim from someone's cutoffs. The mic looks totally stupid now, but works better. |

Cool mods. I have a bunch of these mics and have never gotten around to modding them. Hopefully I can give it a go soon. |

Check it out:
http://www.oktavamod.com/index.html A shop that mods, and sells pre-modded Oktava mics! They are relatively cheap, I want to get my hands on some! |
