Thumbs up Krakli Cygnus

Many thanks for your in-depth review of Cygnus in Crosstalk #13.

Dan was asking if it would be possible to add a sample or soundfont oscillator. It certainly sounds like a good idea and I will give it some careful consideration, in the past I've been quite anti-samples (as far as my vst projects are concerned), I find it much more satisfying to create sounds from synthesis, however I guess that Dan was interested in the possibilities of mangling existing samples, as I said I will give it some thought and get back to you.

Dan was also saying that there were no level controls for the individual oscillators, actually each Oscillator has an idividual level control as it enters the Chorus units (panned left and right), these level controls, labelled L1, L2, L3, operate irrespective of whether you are using chorus or not and therefore offer the opportunity to balance the tone generators. (see pic below)

I hope that you revisit the reviews of Freesynths some time in the future, I would be intruiged to hear what you guys would make of Richman2, its a Phyical Modelling, FM hybrid, which I love, but which has been struggling with the rather limp name that I chose for it

Just for your information.. I am seriously considering releasing a Version 3 of YAVA (my only for-sale synth). If you guys are interested I can send you an early version when I get it to a pre-release state..

I have really enjoyed the podcasts so far and I look forward to future editions

Thanks for chiming in Ian. Great to hear from a developer. I'm sure we'll be seeing more of your creations in future crosstalks.
