For the price of the MPC4000, you can buy a drumset with cymbals and hardware. Microphones, stands, and cables, and hire a professional drummer to play 4, maybe even 8 bars.
Just saying is all......

Default interpolation algo

i read in the latest SOS that the S1000 and S1100 used a different interpolation algo for transposing samples than the S2000 and S3000. Is the MPC2000 based on the S2000 engine? Does anybody know which algo it uses for transposition? Are MPC1000, 2000, and 4000 different? Wonder about the MPC6000.

The one thing I always liked about Akai samplers (though I've always hated hardware even before I had any other option) is how punchy they are - super fast attack. They also seem to compress a little bit.
