Thx. Yeah, for a "pop" song, I reckon it is an anguished vocal (g/f wife troubles? hehe)

Also, for my mix, the distorted bass represents the uneasy brooding trouble. The strings, the soul (we hope!). Of course this mix requires a few listens to the uninitiated due to its broken nature. (A good idea is to turn on PBS or BBCWORLD, turn down their noise and listen to mine instead)

Quite a few good mixes on the site so far. You have to ignore the vote rigging tho'

I heard something about Gabriel doing experiments on monkeys while at university. Something about the effects of music on them. Perhaps his anguish is from having to literally "shock" them, or he is channeling theirs.

Update on my mix: I was able to do a little more work on the song a couple nights ago. I am working on a more true to original mix and am still piecing the parts together. I'ts kind of cool to hear how they piece together. the sounds are crap by themselves but together they mesh in interesting ways.
