Exclamation Help needed for Newbie in Logic 5.50

hai,

Im a new person in this sound sequencing business.

Yesterday I got my Logic 5.50.

My firend told me that it would be a bit complicated. So I thought I could get your expert advice.

the main thing I have in my mind is to create "STY" files so that I can play them on my Yamaha PSR.

So first of all.

1. can we create STY files in Logic 5.50
2. How do we do it if we can (Step by step instruction is needed)

Thanks guys.

Regards

I'm not sure you can make or create STY files in Logic. It's not a format I've seen it saves to. Unless I'm mistaken.

Please tell me how i can get started. I tried to load a STY file and it does load the thing and plays it.

So if I can modify the sty file by adding more instruments to it, I can save the changes to it. Of course all this is just theoretically speaking I havent put it into practice.

So if what Im saying is correct then please help me guys I really need to get this thing working please help me

Thanks

Logic cannot make sty files. They are proprietary style files for yamaha personal keyboards.

However hope is not completely lost. These are the steps I would take. Keep in mind I am in Logic 7 so the step by step may ot be exact.

If you create a midi file from your project (select your midi regions>File menu>Export>Selection as Midi File) you can then convert this file into sty. Unfortunately the only one I have seen are for windows:

last link on this page

If you do some searching on google you might be able to find a MIDI to STY converter for mac.
