Default Synth and Bass Amp (help)

Hi -

I was wondering if my bass amp would get damaged when I ran my synthesizer through it at mid-high to high volume.
I have a Roland SH-201 synthesizer and Gallien-Krueger 400RB head and SBX410 cab.

Thanks!

- Eric

Your bass amp should be able to deal with most of what the Roland Synth will put out. I'd suggest experimenting with the sounds at a lower volume for Sub bass frequencies. This way you won't set yourself up for any blown speakers! You can always keep a log of sounds that have abusive lows.

it's more of a volume thing. If your amp is on 11 dont go playing any screeching highs. If you're in a mid volume range you should be ok. It's playing a bass through your keyboard amp that you should avoid the extreme lows on so you're goin the right way

I would also recommend using the -10dB pad on the input. Keyboards put out a hotter signal than basses. Sometimes it works out nicely to overdrive your inputs, but its technically not meant to be done and GK's love to break.

No. But if your keyboards have stereo output for the sound transfer, use a cord with the amp side split and plug one jack in each channel. (Assuming your amp has two
channels).
