Ever had the case of hearing a great synth used by a group turned into horrendous cheesy music?
Lately I've been noticing in my own music collection some egregious examples of this: Tony Banks Synthfiesta on all Genesis albums after Lamb Lies Down, Keith Emerson's synth schlock on Love Beach and beyond, Eno's after the Pearl especially that Neroli snoozefest, and Jarre's already ultra cheesy but likeable synths after Equinoxe... I mean what the heck happened did the advent of FM synths, multipoliphony, midi, digital synthesis kill good synthesizer musicians from yore? Im thinking it did. |

As late as it is, I still love the CS80 sounds (or was it an Arp Quadra by this time?) on Genesis' title track from ABACAB, especially the breakdown part in the middle.
