Default What was your first synth?

We all started somewhere. My first was a beat up Akai AX-60. How 'bout you?

I had some Yamaha YDP something or other that my dad bought for me from best buy when I was about 11. My old band glued popsicle sticks to the keys so that a few jutted out. We layed that sucker on the ground, attached it to my Boss SP-202 sampler and fired off samples with our feet.

That poor keyboard looks like the world ended on it now.

Yamaha MU100R - still my favorite clarinet sound. Got great synth bass sounds too.

Heh for awhile i had this Yammie DX100 i was doing that with. During a jam session with a pal i kinda missed the key and smashed in the LCD screen. I ended up replacing it, sawing off the keyboard, and using it as a MIDI controller

I use an Akai Ax-60! Its pretty awesome. Comparible to the Juno 60 but better.
I've always wanted an MS-20.
My first synth was the UNI-VOX MiniKorg which I still use.

I sold my original AX60, though i did pick up another one. It's got two dead VCO's though, and the Curtis chips they use (CEM3394's) are stupid expensive.

MS20!

I knew a dirty kid in high school who had found this in his uncle's closet. He said it could only make some helicopter and police siren sounds sometimes, but more often than not he couldn't make it do anything.

It was mint. He brought it over and left it with me.

Needless to say we gave it much love, tapes to live on, and I even let my electronic music teacher borrow it for a couple of weeks. He tried to buy it off of me.

I didn't see the dirty kid again for two or three years but one day he just showed up at my house and asked for it back.
