If you like portable, reliable, and full-featured, which is tops?

my vote would be for the CME 49-key midi controller. It has plenty of great things; semi-weighted action, bunch of knobs slider and buttons with MIDI CC on everything, and optional Firewire audio connection. It's just a killer machine. That or even the Alesis Photon and Korg MicroKontrol would be my picks.

That one does look interesting. Too bad they don't make a 25-key version. I need something backpack sized.

in that case probably the keyboard controller closer to my spirit would be this Alesis Photon 25:
http://www.alesis.com/products/photon25/index.html with the X-Y stick controller. That's about as close to a Synthi keyboard I can get without shelling out $3000. Someone, please come out with a suitcase synth already!!! |
